GENESIS (second pass)
GENESIS (second pass)
My personal translation of the Scriptures is being completed in phases. Having recently completed the first draft, I am now returning to the project and plan to release the results of the second pass book-by-book. On June 16th, I completed the second pass of the book of Genesis.
Here are some excerpts:
Genesis 1:1 At first, God created the sky and the land,
Genesis 1:20 And God said, "Let the water swarm with swarms of living throats, and let birds fly above the land across the divider of the sky."
Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let us make humanity in our image, after our likeness. And let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the land and over every moving thing that creeps on the land." So God created humanity in his own image, he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female.
Genesis 2:7 then Yahveh God formed the first man from dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breathing of life, and that man became a living throat.
Genesis 2:16-17 And Yahveh God commanded the human, and this is what he said, "You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you will not eat, for in the day that you eat of it “you will be mortal, you will die."
Genesis 2:18 Then Yahveh God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a partner fit for him."
Genesis 3:4 But the snake said to the woman, "You will not become mortal and die.
Genesis 3:22-23 Then Yahveh God said, "Notice, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, or else he might reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live permanently-” therefore Yahveh God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.
Genesis 12:2 And I will make of you an influential nation, and I will bless you and make your name important and be a blessing.
Genesis 12:10 But there was a famine in the land. So Abram went down to Egypt to stay there as a guest because the famine in the land was heavy.
Genesis 14:21 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, "Give me the throats, but take the property for yourself."
Genesis 16:7-8 The agent of Yahveh found Hagar by a spring of water in the open country, the spring on the way to Shur. And he said, "Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?" She answered, "I am fleeing from my mistress Sarai."
Genesis 19:19 Notice, your slave has found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great covenant faithfulness in saving my throat. But I cannot escape to the hills, or the disaster will hold fast to me and I will die.
Genesis 20:6 Then God said to him in the dream, "Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart, in fact, it was I who kept you from failing me. For this reason, I did not let you touch her.
Genesis 20:15 And Abimelech said, "Notice, my land is before you; live wherever you want to."
Genesis 28:14 Your seed will be like the dust of the land, and you will spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and your seed will all the families of the land be blessed.
Genesis 37:35 All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted and said, "No, I will go down to Sheol to my son, mourning." Thus, his father wept for him.
Genesis 42:38 But he said, "My son will not go down with you, because his brother is dead, and he is the only one left. If injury should happen to him on the trip that you are to take, you would bring down my gray hairs grieving to Sheol."
Genesis 47:25 And they said, "You have saved our lives;
"May we find favor in the eyes of our lord; we will be slaves to Pharaoh."
Genesis 50:20 As for you, you meant to wrong me, but God intended it for a good purpose, so he could preserve the lives of many people, as you can see this day.
