The Reynolds Wrap

Why would anyone want to read something I wrote? I’m not entirely sure, but let me look at how friends and foes alike have described me and in turn my work.

You’re incredibly handsome and intelligent. You’re absolutely going to grow up to be a dinosaur.” -Terrie A. Reynolds (mother) 1993 when I got held back in Kindergarten.

You’re an incredible disappointment and will never be a dinosaur.” -Tamra Reynolds (much older sister) in 1993 when I got held back in Kindergarten

The least likeable person I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting.” -Most people

“Dogmatic” -Everyone who disagrees with me, heretics

“Passionate about the truth.” -Luke Copeland, my new best friend

“A zealous jerk.” -Tom Loghry, my former best friend

“Enigmatic, insightful, and truly brilliant. Absolutely the John Calvin of our time.” -My son’s overly supportive imaginary friend who I bribed with a kit-kat.

“Sarcastic…caring… stubborn… *shoulder shrug*” -My loving wife

“Isn’t that the heathen pastor who wrote that article about cigar smoking? Idiot and not even a Christian.” -Boomers

“Astutely inquisitive.” -Nathaniel Bickford
I have many interests but none greater than our Lord Jesus. I’m passionate about serving Him and making Him known within our churches and community. I’m also incredibly flawed. My blog might offend, sometimes on accident and other times intentionally. I’m often sarcastic and satirical. I can be pointed in my criticism and unrelenting in my dissent. Nathaniel Bickford suggests that it’s because I read too much Luther and Calvin. I instead know that it comes from a place of sincere passion for truth and a pursuit of knowledge that leads to doctrine and doxology. Why? Because if you don’t know Jesus well or rightly how could you ever hope to worship Him truly?

What you’ll get from my blog is a variety show of articles, resources, and ponderings. There will be times that I’ll share resources that I create for my church and possible excerpts from my books. At other points I will openly share questions that I’m working through as a follower of Jesus and a pastor. There will also be the articles that share my opinion of which I warmly welcome your critique. This is a safe place for pointed critique of the author and his ideas. This is The Reynolds Wrap.
